City of Bloomington Trade Testing

The City of Bloomington accepts master competency cards from Minneapolis and St. Paul only. However, the City of Bloomington administers tests each quarter that allows contractors to prove competency and establish a City of Bloomington license in HVAC and Gas installer – Class 'A' (Section 14.213 & 14.214.)

Tests are administered at Bloomington Civic Plaza in the Community Development Department on the first floor starting at 8 a.m.

The test is given on the third Friday of the last month of each quarter (March, June, September and December) excluding holidays. The upcoming schedule is as follows:

June 15, 2012
September 21, 2012
December 21, 2012
March 15, 2013
June 21, 2013

Contractors may call 952-563-8930 to register and discuss test preparation with a mechanical inspector. The testing fee is $35 per test which can be paid upon test day arrival.
