What is Environmental Health?

For over 40 years the Environmental Health Division has conducted regular inspections of food facilities, rental housing, swimming pools, well sealing/construction, lodging facilities and community nuisances. Staff also responds to complaints regarding noise, toxic materials, and air and water pollution.

Our staff is comprised of professionals with over 100 combined years of experience whose efforts are directed toward managing environmental health hazards associated with food, air, water, housing and community.

Our goal is to preserve and improve environmental factors that affect citizen and community health.

Our philosophy regarding compliance is education based, informing citizens about relevant ordinances and stressing voluntary compliance through routine inspections to evaluate risks, as well as responding to citizen complaints and emergencies.
