Updating Application Processes

Zoning ordinance update

Last updated: November 3, 2009

As part of the 2009 Planning Work Plan and the broader project to update the Zoning Ordinance, staff has prepared an ordinance to update Bloomington's application processes, including the final site and building plan, preliminary development plan, final development plan, conditional use permit and interim use permit application processes.

Key changes in the ordinance include shifting the level at which most final site and building plans are approved from the City Council level to either the Planning Commission or the staff level; adding expiration/rescission dates to new final site and building plans, preliminary development plans, and final development plans; and reclassifying licensed currency exchange businesses from conditional to permitted uses.

Schedule:

  • 8/27/09 Planning Commission Public Hearing
  • 10/19/09 City Council Public Hearing (continued)
  • 11/2/09 City Council Public Hearing (approved)
