Veterans Photo Wall and Appreciation Luncheon
Seeking photos of Bloomington Veterans
The Veterans Photo Wall honors Bloomington citizens who've served through the years.
Human Services is seeking photos of veterans for its 2011 Veterans Photo Wall. Bring a photo of yourself or a loved one along with the individual's name, rank, and years of service to Human Services at Creekside or Civic Plaza for submission to the collection. Staff will make a scanned copy of your photo and will return the original to you.
This year there will be a photo wall display at Creekside and Civic Plaza during the entire month of November. The photo wall began in 2003 and has grown to include over 250 photos of veterans, featuring men and women from all branches of service as far back as World War I.

The City of Bloomington Human Services Division will host its' annual Veterans Appreciation Lunch. Lunch will feature a special presentation by Barbara Farrell, President, American Gold Star Mothers, Inc. – Minnesota Chapter, which as with the National organization, is a group of mothers who have lost a child who was on active duty in the military. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Minneapolis Police Swing Band.
Ticket prices are $0 - 3 for guests 60 + (NAPIS form required) and $6 for guests under 60. Veterans and Active Duty Military Personnel will receive a complimentary lunch.
