Normandale Bandshell performance

Enjoy the beautiful summer nights and take in a show at the Normandale Lake Bandshell.

Free performances featuring music and dance are Tuesday and Thursday evenings starting at 7 p.m.

Parking is free and available in the 84th Street and Chalet Road parking lots. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs for comfortable seating.

Minnesota Symphonic Winds
Founded in 1978, the Minnesota Symphonic Winds celebrates its 30th season delivering the finest symphonic concert band literature to audiences in the Twin Cities and around the world.

The ensemble consists of more than 90 musicians who rehearse weekly from September through early June.The Minnesota Symphonic Winds provides an opportunity for musicians who might not otherwise have an outlet for their musical expression and talent to participate actively and regularly in musical performance.

Richfield Symphonic Band
As a group principally composed of veterans, the performance schedule has reflected that heritage with appearances at The Minneapolis Veteran's Hospital, Memorial Day observances at the Fort Snelling and Camp Ripley National Cemeteries, Veteran's Day observances in the Twin Cities Area, the dedication of the WWII Veteran's memorial in St. Paul, Minnesota Veteran's Home, and an appearance with President Ronald Reagan.

The repertoire includes a large library of classic and contemporary literature of American Concert Band, Broadway Show medleys, and concert band treatment of "Big Band" selections

Jazz on the Prairie Big Band
Jazz on the Prairie Big Band is a 20-piece big band based in Eden Prairie, MN. Made up entirely of volunteer musicians, the band performs about 10-15 times per year around the greater twin cities areas providing free concerts to the general public.

Our repertoire includes all styles of jazz and big band music ranging from the roaring 20's to the big band era of the 40's and the later stuff that made guys like Stan Kenton and Maynard Ferguson famous.

U of M Alumni Band
The U of M Alumni band is comprised of University of Minnesota Alumni of many graduation classes. While providing an opportunity for the alumni to connect with past friends, the band focused on providing great service and entertainment to the citizens of Minnesota!

Everett Smithson Band
The Everett Smithson Band plays an interesting variety of music as well as standards that have a unique spin on them and many delightful originals. Come to any Everett Smithson Band performance and you can count on the band to create a party atmosphere.

Bloomington Chorale
The Bloomington Chorale is the only adult mixed chorus non-audition choir in Bloomington. The group performs challenging vocal music from a variety of styles.

Seldom Herd Bluegrass Band
The Seldom Herd Bluegrass Band claims it influences from a wide range of performers including Flatt & Scruggs, John Hartford, Newgrass Revival, Bill Monroe, Doc Watson, Kasey Chambers, Claire Lynch, and Old Crow Medicine Show to name but a few.

Minneapolis Police Band
The Minneapolis Police Band consists of a concert band, a marching band and a swing band. The bands participate in 30 to 35 engagements a year. The marching band has been the official escort band for the Minneapolis Aquatennial Parade since the parade began in 1940. The band has traveled through the U.S. and Canada and has won many awards and trophies.

Steve Clarke and the Working Stiffs
"Steve Clarke and the Working Stiffs play a clever blend of dance music from the 30's to the 50's. Led by Mr. Clarke's soaring saxophone, The Working Stiffs have become a hit with the dance crowd of the Twin Cities, thanks to their smart song selection, and contagious musical enthusiasm. Each player in this top-notch ensemble was handpicked by Mr. Clarke to create a combo with explosive playing power. From Count Basie and Fat Waller to Elvis, and Billie Holliday and Louis Jordan to Bill Haley, The Working Stiffs cover the vast territory known as Classic American Pop with confidence and panache. The true test of our fair is how well we please our customers. You made that job easy for us. I consider Steve Clarke and the Working Stiffs one of the best bands in Minnesota indeed in the upper Midwest."

Bloomington Symphony Orchestra
The BSO is an orchestra made up of talented professional, semi-professional and amateur musicians who are selected through a highly competitive audition process. The BSO performs major symphonic works at accessible church, school, park and community center locations in the south and southwest Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area.

U.S. Air Force Brass in Blue
Take part in traditional military brass and percussion with vocals.
