Finance Department

Bloomington has joined an elite few cities nationwide with three triple-A bond ratings from Standard and Poor's, Moody's and Fitch.

The Finance Department provides financial management for the City and Port Authority and support services to City departments. The department also oversees support services which account for the telephone, mail and print shop operations.

    Accounting collects local taxes on liquor, lodging, and admission sales from Bloomington establishments. A portion of the proceeds are given to the Bloomington Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Bloomington Port Authority to fund marketing and development efforts for the Bloomington hospitality industry.
