Police Reserve

Volunteer officers make the difference

Reserve officer directing traffic.

Reserve officers work alongside sworn police officers and assist with daily police activities. They provide traffic direction and security for large public and private events such as the Susan G. Komen Race For the Cure, Iron Girl, Summer Fete, etc. Reserves also patrol the city in marked Bloomington Police Department squad cars, Thursday through Saturday evenings.

Reserve officers receive first responder certification and use-of-force training as part of their training academy.
