Police ReserveVolunteer officers make the difference![]() Reserve officers work alongside sworn police officers and assist with daily police activities. They provide traffic direction and security for large public and private events such as the Susan G. Komen Race For the Cure, Iron Girl, Summer Fete, etc. Reserves also patrol the city in marked Bloomington Police Department squad cars, Thursday through Saturday evenings. Reserve officers receive first responder certification and use-of-force training as part of their training academy. To apply, download the following volunteer application. Fill it out and print a paper copy so you can add your signature. Once signed, drop it off or mail it to the Police Department, attn: Sgt. Todd Lewis, 1800 W. Old Shakopee Road, Bloomington MN 55431-3027. We are currently accepting applications. However, we do not have an upcoming class scheduled at this time.
