Normandale Lake Trails ProjectWhat is the scope of this project?A large portion of the existing walking and multi-use trails that navigate around Normandale Lake will be maintained either by reconstruction or crack/fog sealing. Trails will be widened to 10' and reconstructed along their existing alignment as necessary, to allow us to save most trees and the existing features around these trails. Trail connections will be added to allow for easier access between existing trails with some small minimally traveled segments being removed.
How is the project funded? The City of Bloomington has received a Park and Trails Legacy fund grant that will be used for the trail improvements. What is the project schedule? The City anticipates beginning path improvements in the spring of 2012 with project completion to occur by mid-summer 2012. How are pedestrians/bicyclist going to be impacted? There will be times when segments of the paths will be closed and pedestrians/bicyclists will not have access to all segments. Please watch for signs directing you to the open trails.
