Ordinance Approved by City Council March 7, 2011
Last updated: March 8, 2011
At the March 7, 2011 City Council Meeting, the City Council approved an ordinance that allows
stormwater pond aeration, conditional on 100% of property owners around a pond agreeing to
provide aeration.
-
Stormwater ponds located on private or institutional property that do not have a public
storm sewer connection shall be allowed to install aeration equipment without a permit.
-
Stormwater ponds located on private or institutional property and that have a public storm
sewer connection shall be required to obtain a stormwater pond aeration permit prior to
installing aeration equipment.
-
Stormwater ponds located on publicly owned property shall not be allowed to install
aeration equipment except for locations where a DNR permit already exists for aeration year
round, or for public agencies with a pond or lake management plan or other master plan,
such as a Park or Natural Resource Master Plan.
The City is not participating in funding stormwater pond aeration.
