Old Shakopee Road Bridge rehabilitation project begins Aug. 22

Old Shakopee Road motorists in Bloomington may experience delays and a detour as a project to rehabilitate this bridge spanning Highway 77/Cedar Avenue begins Monday, Aug. 22.

Old Shakopee Road will be reduced to a single lane during most of the project as crews work on concrete rehabilitation, drainage and sidewalk updates and curb repairs. The sidewalk on the south side of Old Shakopee Road will be closed for a portion of the project, and pedestrians are advised to follow posted detours.

In addition, the loop from westbound Old Shakopee Road to southbound Highway 77/Cedar Avenue will be closed for approximately the first two weeks of the project. During the closure motorists will be detoured to northbound Highway 77/Cedar Avenue and then can use the loops at the I-494 interchange to access southbound Highway 77/Cedar Avenue.
