Updates to the City Code

On February 2, 2009, at its regular meeting, the Bloomington City Council enacted a 15-page ordinance amending existing standards to clear up discrepancies and inaccuracies thereby amending Chapters 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 15, and 19 of the City Code.

The specific title of the ordinance enacted was:

"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY CODE TO UPDATE AND ADD SPECIFICITY TO:

(1) THE FIRE CODE AS IT RELATES TO GRILLS ON DECKS AND RECREATIONAL FIRES;

(2) THE VEHICLE REGULATIONS AS THEY PERTAIN TO THE STORAGE OF ABANDONED AND INOPERABLE VEHICLES AND THE REMOVAL OF UNAUTHORIZED VEHICLES FROM PRIVATE PROPERTY;

(3) THE ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE CARE OF REFUSE, FIREWOOD AND THE NOISE CODE;

(4) THE NUISANCE CODE AS IT RELATES TO THE STORAGE OR PARKING OF TYPE II VEHICLES OR VEHICLES WITH SNOWPLOWS ATTACHED ON RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY, OUTDOOR BURNERS, ACCUMULATIONS OF REFUSE, PLANT MATERIAL AND YARD WASTE AND MINIMUM INSPECTION CHARGES; AND

(5) THE BUILDING CODE AS IT RELATES TO INDIVIDUAL SEWAGE TREATMENT SYSTEMS AND TO INCORPORATE RECENTLY ADOPTED STATE CODES; AND THEREBY AMENDING CHAPTERS 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 15, AND 19 OF THE CITY CODE."
