Sam H. Hobbs Water Treatment PlantA quality facility delivers quality water to residents![]() This windmill once pumped water from a shallow well on the Christensen family farm. The property now houses our water treatment plant, which can produce up to 14 million gallons of water per day from six deep wells.
The Sam H. Hobbs Water Treatment Plant, built in 1973, completed a remodel in 2002. The updated plant can now produce fourteen million gallons of treated, drinkable water per day -- twice its previous capacity. The lime-softening plant operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Utility Operators stationed at the water plant also serve as the 24-hour contact people for water emergencies.
