First page of the News, July 1987
The City's first newsletter News was published in July 1987. Two issues were printed the first year with circulation limited to Bloomington Sun-Current subscribers. Written by assistants to the Mayor and the City Manager, the newsletter was typeset and laid on white boards using Xacto knives and rubber cement.

The brick structure shown here was built by residents and known as "the Vault". Once used to store the dead when the ground became too frozen to dig, it now serves as a tool storage shed.
