Final testing of the sanitary sewer is complete. Restoration in the area has started and will complete early in the week of September 12. All road closures on Normandale Lake Blvd have been removed.

September 6, 2011

Final testing of the sanitary sewer and restoration of the area has started and is anticipated to complete the week of September 5. Normandale Lake Blvd is currently closed from American Blvd to approx. 500' south of the intersection and this closure is anticipated to be removed the week of September 5.

 

August 2011

August 26, 2011

Boring of the new 10" sanitary sewer from approx. 170' south of American Blvd to the exiting MH on American Blvd is complete. The sanitary service at 5601 American Blvd has been installed. Traffic on American Blvd has been moved to the center lanes both EB and WB with the outer lanes closed for final restoration. Normandale Lake Blvd is currently closed from American Blvd to approx. 500' south of the intersection. Final testing of the sanitary sewer and restoration of the area is anticipated to occur the week of August 29.

August 19, 2011

Boring of the new 10" sanitary sewer from approx. 170' south of American Blvd (at the sanitary service location for 5601 American Blvd) to MH 4 is complete. MH 4 installation is complete. Boring of the new 10" sanitary sewer from approx. 170' south of American Blvd to the exiting MH on American Blvd has started and will continue the week of August 22. Traffic has been reduced to one lane in each direction and a temporary 3-way stop with a temporary bypass to allow for one lane of traffic in each direction at the intersection of Normandale Lake Blvd and American Blvd will be in place for the duration of this work. Normandale Lake Blvd is currently closed from American Blvd to approx. 500' south of the intersection. Upon completion of this final bore, the sanitary service will be installed at 5601 American Blvd with final sanitary sewer testing and restoration to follow the weeks of August 22 and 29.

August 12, 2011

Installation of MH 3 (near the parking ramp at 5800 W. 84th Street) is complete. Boring of the new 10" sanitary sewer from approx. 170' south of American Blvd (at the sanitary service location for 5601 American Blvd) to MH 4 has started and will continue the week of August 15. Upon completion of this bore, the boring of the new 10" sanitary sewer from approx. 170' south of American Blvd to the exiting MH on American Blvd will begin the week of August 15. This work will require reducing American Blvd traffic to one lane in each direction and a temporary 3-way stop at the intersection of Normandale Lake Blvd and American Blvd will be utilized for the duration of this work which is anticipated to occur mid week of August 15. Normandale Lake Blvd is currently closed from American Blvd to approx. 500' south of the intersection.

August 5, 2011

Boring of the new 10" sanitary sewer from 83rd Street to the north (MH 3 to MH 4) is complete. Installation of MH 3 (near the parking ramp at 5800 W. 84th Street) along with restoration in the area is anticipated to complete August 5. Boring of the new 10" sanitary sewer from approx. 170' south of American Blvd (at the sanitary service location for 5601 American Blvd) to MH 4 will occur the week of August 8. Normandale Lake Blvd will be closed on Monday, August 8 at 6:00am from American Blvd to approx. 500' south of the intersection. The current closure from W 83rd St to approx. 100' north on Normandale Lake Boulevard will be removed at this time. The duration of this closure will be approximately 1 month. Also, traffic will be reduced to one lane in both directions on American Blvd at Normandale Lake Boulevard when the boring from 170' south of American Blvd on Normandale Lake Blvd to the existing MH on American Blvd begins. This is anticipated to occur late in the week of August 8 or the week of August 15.

The contractor has a noise variance to allow work to begin at 7 am on Saturday, July 30. Boring of the new 10" sanitary sewer from each manhole on either side of the intersection of Normandale Lake Blvd and W. 83rd Street (MH 3 to MH 2) is complete. Boring of the new 10" sanitary sewer from 83rd Street to the north (MH 3 to MH 4) is anticipated to complete by the end of the day on Monday, August 1. Paving south of W. 83rd Street around the new MH 2 is scheduled to occur on July 29, and upon completion, all lanes southbound on Normandale Lake Blvd from W 83rd Street to W 84th Street will be opened to traffic. Installation of MH 3 (near the parking ramp at 5800 W. 84th Street) and restoration around the manhole will occur the week of August 1. Boring of the new 10" sanitary sewer from 350' south of the American Blvd intersection (MH 4) towards American Blvd is anticipated to begin late in the week of August 1. Normandale Lake Blvd remains closed from W 83rd Street to approx. 150' North with a detour provided.

July 22, 2011

Concrete median work on W 84th Street has completed. Boring of the new 10" sanitary sewer from MH 3 to MH 2 is anticipated to complete early in the week of July 25. The excavation of the shaft for MH 4 has started and will continue the week of July 25 with the boring of the new 10" sanitary sewer from MH 3 to MH 4 to follow also during the week of July 25. MH 2 will be placed the week of July 25 with restoration from W 83rd Street to W 84th Street anticipated to complete the week of July 25. Upon completion of this restoration, all lanes southbound on Normandale Lake Blvd from W 83rd Street to W 84th Street with be opened to traffic. Normandale Lake Blvd will remain closed from W 83rd Street to approx. 150' North with a detour provided.

July 15, 2011

The contractor has finished the boring of the new 10" sanitary sewer from MH 1 to MH 2. Restoration around the existing MH on W 84th Street has completed with minor concrete median work remaining. Excavation of the shaft for MH 3 has started and is anticipated to complete early in the week of July 18. Upon completion of MH 3 shaft excavation, the contractor will begin boring of the new 10" sanitary sewer from MH 3 to MH 2 the week of July 18. Restoration of the area between MH 1 and MH 2 will continue the week of July 18. One lane of traffic has been opened up southbound on Normandale Lake Blvd from W 83rd Street to W 84th Street and Normandale Lake Blvd is now closed from W 83rd Street to approx. 150' North for Phase 2 construction and a detour has been provided for this closure.

July 8, 2011

The contractor anticipates finishing the boring of the new 10" sanitary sewer from MH 1 to MH 2 early in the week of July 11. Restoration around the existing MH on W 84th Street will finish the week of July 11. Restoration around MH 1 will occur the week of July 11. Excavation of the shaft for MH 3 is anticipated to occur late in the week of July 11. The closure of southbound Normandale Lake Blvd from W 83rd Street to W 84th Street is currently in place with a detour provided, but is anticipated to change late in the week of July 11. With this change, one lane of traffic will be opened up southbound on Normandale Lake Blvd from W 83rd Street to W 84th Street and Normandale Lake Blvd will then be closed from W 83rd Street to approx. 100' North for Phase 2 construction. This closure will last approx. 3 weeks and a detour will be provided.

July 1, 2011

The contractor has finished the boring of the new 10" sanitary sewer line from MH 1 to the existing MH on W 84th Street. Excavation of the shaft for MH 2 will begin on July 5 and the boring machine will be turned within the MH 1 shaft to begin boring from MH 1 to MH 2 the week of July 4. Restoration around the existing MH on W 84th Street will continue the week of July 4. The closure of southbound Normandale Lake Blvd from W 83rd to W 84th Street is currently in place with a detour provided.

June 2011

June 24, 2011

The contractor has finished the shaft excavation at MH 1 and has set the guided boring machine in this shaft. The contractor plans to conduct the boring of the new 10" sanitary sewer line from MH 1 to the existing MH on W 84th St the week of June 27. The closure of southbound Normandale Lake Blvd from W 83rd to W 84th Street is currently in place with a detour provided.

June 20, 2011

The Contractor plans on beginning the excavation of the second shaft at MH 1 on Normandale Lake Blvd in preparation for the guided boring installation of new 10" sanitary sewer line the week of June 20. Weather dependant, the Contractor may start boring from MH 1 to the existing manhole on W 84th Street late in the week of June 20. The first shaft at the existing manhole on W. 84th St will be complete by the end of day Friday, June 17. The closure of southbound Normandale Lake Blvd from W 83rd to W 84th Street is currently in place with a detour provided.

June 10, 2011

A preconstruction conference was held on June 7.

The Contractor plans to begin excavating the shafts for MH 1 on Normandale Lake Blvd and the existing MH on W 84th St on Wed, June 15 in preparation for the guided boring installation of the new 10" sanitary sewer line between the two manholes, which is anticipated to occur the week of June 20. This first phase of construction will require the closure of southbound Normandale Lake Blvd from W 83rd St to W 84th St beginning on June 15 and lasting for approx. 1 month. A detour will be provided for this closure.

June 7, 2011

A preconstruction conference is scheduled for the week of June 6.
